Entrepreneurship Diversity – Feb 11
Nasdaq Foundation invites applications for quarterly grants
The Nasdaq Foundation reimagines investor engagement to equip underrepresented communities with the financial knowledge and tools they need to share in the wealth that markets create and leverage the foundation’s investment in the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center alongside new strategic partnerships with organizations that can help build a deeper, data-led understanding of where the challenges are greatest, what existing efforts could be amplified, and how the foundation can make new and distinctive contributions.
To that end, the foundation invites applications to its quarterly grant program, which will award funding in two areas of focus:
1. Empower diverse investors with the financial knowledge and confidence they need to share in the wealth that markets can create. Grants will be given in this area to organizations and programs that deliver impact in one or more ways: enhance financial literacy among women and underrepresented communities and improve access to knowledge and tools among women and underrepresented communities.
2. Support diverse entrepreneurs with the resources to strengthen and scale their businesses and contribute to the prosperity of society. Grants will be given in this area to organizations and programs that deliver impact in one or more ways: equip women and diverse founders with mentoring and resources, and improve access to capital for women and diverse founders.
While there is no set minimum or maximum grant amount, the average size of a grant made by the foundation is $75,000.
Eligible applicants include those tax-exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and for-profit businesses or consultants acting on behalf of a qualified tax-exempt entity. If the grant is awarded, a representative of the tax-exempt entity must sign the grant agreement, and the grant will be paid to the tax-exempt entity.

Housing for Everyone – Feb 14
TD Charitable Foundation invites applications for Housing for Everyone
The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, has launched its annual Housing for Everyone competition to support nonprofit organizations that provide affordable housing and wraparound services to help individuals and families with economic stability.
According to the foundation, affordable rental housing is in more demand than ever with increasing rent costs, expiring affordability restrictions, and housing providers having to expand their services with limited support. This continuing challenge threatens the national affordable housing ecosystem and the ability to help people achieve financial security in a changing world.
The 2023 Housing for Everyone competition will award $7 million for efforts to preserve affordable rental housing.
Grants ranging from $150,000 to $250,000 will be awarded to eligible organizations addressing these three key areas of focus: property rehabilitation, rental assistance funds, and building organizational capacity to ensure residents’ sustainability.
Projects must be located in the competition’s eligible geographic regions, including New England and Upstate New York, Metro New York, Metro Pennsylvania/New Jersey, Metro Mid-South, Metro Florida, and Metro Detroit.
Applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or a state/local governmental entity and not classified as a private foundation, and have a history of providing affordable housing for low- to moderate-income individuals and/or families, or can demonstrate a strong record of creating pathways and facilitating placement of affordable housing.
