Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy’s (OACCE) Neighborhood Arts Programs
The Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy’s (OACCE) neighborhood arts programs Creative Avenues and Culture in Neighborhoods increase access to the arts throughout Philadelphia’s neighborhoods. Local artists and/or cultural organizations who are interested in providing creative activities and performances can learn more about the funding opportunities below.
Funds for Summer / Fall 2021 neighborhood arts programming are from Philadelphia City Council’s New Normal Budget Act and the leadership of Councilmembers Isaiah Thomas and Katherine Gilmore Richardson.
Creative Avenues (CA) provides funding to support arts programs that are part of a free neighborhood or community initiative in Philadelphia. The applicant for CA funding is the organization or entity planning the free neighborhood or community initiative. The applicant should provide information about the free neighborhood initiative, the arts program that the CA funds will support, and the artists and/or cultural organization providing the arts program. Examples of arts programs include live music, dance performance, art making, video screening, theatrical performances, poetry readings, etc. The artists or cultural organization must be located in Philadelphia. All CA funding will go directly to the artists or cultural organizations.
Culture in Neighborhoods (CIN) provides funding to Philadelphia artists and cultural organizations to present free creative activities in local outdoor and indoor locations. Artists and cultural organizations are invited to submit their interest in presenting cultural activities like live music, dance performance, art making, video screening, theatrical performances, poetry readings, etc. Those who submit their interest will be considered as OACCE works with community partners who seek cultural programming for their 2021 Summer / Fall events. All CIN funding will go directly to the artists or cultural organizations.
